Show me the Camino

By now you have probably realised my passion for helping those who have struggled with the challenges life has presented them with. I believe it’s natural when you have been through it yourself. You feel more, have more empathy and compassion and understand at a greater depth how it can be at times when you feel like you are not going to make it.

So when I was recently approached by a member of the newly formed charity  www.showmethecamino.com and asked to become part of the volunteer team, I didn’t have to think twice. The charity has a mission to fully fund and support people who have overcome great challenges in life, in walking the Camino de Santiago, a Pilgrimage that has run for centuries through the upper parts of France and Spain.

The walk is said to offer a transformational journey for all who participate in travelling on its paths. Besides connecting with the astounding nature it has to offer it provides growth for the individual mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Connecting with people from all over the world, pilgrims have the opportunity to explore their own boundaries and return with a fresh new perspective on life.

As part of the team my role is firstly to help decide who from the applicants will be joining us as we take on this exciting adventure and secondly to walk side by side with them and the other volunteers in a supporting role. The other team members have clocked up thousands of kilometres on this historical route and have also a variety of skills to offer to ensure the experience is a safe, carefully planned out and pleasurable one.

We are set to take our first steps on the walk, as a charity on May 29th 2021 and are currently in the process of going through the applications. If you wish to be part of this once in a lifetime opportunity please don’t hesitate to contact us via email.
